  1. In the link the possibility to subscribe the petition that we strongly invite to make -> https://www.riapritelourdes.org/en/ The news is incredible, but unfortunately it is true. For fear of the coronavirus, the sanctuary of Lourdes closed all the pools "as a precaution" and "until further notice". The sanctuary itself announced this on March 1st. The pools of Lourdes are pools in which pilgrims are individually immersed for a few seconds to receive physical and spiritual benefits. The place from which these waters flow was revealed in Santa Bernadette in February 1858 by the Madonna herself. The water turned out to be miraculous and has never ceased to flow ever since. Millions of pilgrims come to Lourdes every year and about eighty thousand of them bathe in the pools. Thousands and thousands of healings take place. The Church, after a rigorous examination, officially recognized about eighty: forty-nine people recovered from the water of Lourdes and thirty-nine in the pools. The real miracle of Lourdes, however, is not these prodigious healings, but the thaumaturgical effects, both spiritual and physical, of a water in which hundreds of sick people affected by the most diverse diseases immerse themselves every day, including sores and skin lesions, without ever having no infection occurred. The water that had once changed twice a week and now appears every day, is full of germs, but I repeat, no sick person has ever been infected during those baths. Well, when an epidemic is spreading in Europe, if there is a place that should be resorted to, an infallibly protected place, it is the sanctuary of Lourdes, which is, par excellence, the place of healing for the soul and the body. Whoever bathed in the same pool in Lourdes as a coronavirus patient would be certain that he was not infected, because the pools in Lourdes are not places of sin, but places of faith, and it is faith not medicine that allows miracles. The miracle is a divine intervention, superior to all human forces and whoever denies the possibility of the miracle denies the very existence of God. Whoever denies the miraculous nature of the water of Lourdes, who fears that the pools of Lourdes could produce contagion, denies the power of God, denies the promises of Our Lady, denies the meaning of Lourdes. If you close the swimming pools, it would be worth closing the sanctuary of Lourdes. It was precisely 11 February 2013, the day of the feast of Lourdes that Benedict XVI renounced the pontificate. And today the bishop of Lourdes, the president of the French episcopal conference, the president of the European bishops, the Vatican secretary of state, the Pope himself give up believing in the miracle of Lourdes? Are they also convinced that the contagion can spread from the pools of Lourdes rather than the healing of bodies and that of souls, which is much more important than physical healing? If so, it is a shame, it is a scandal, it is a sin of unbelief that instead of healing will cause new physical and spiritual evils for the Church and for our nations. We, on the other hand, would like to quench our thirst at the water of Lourdes, trusting in the words of Our Lord: "Whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never be thirsty forever. Indeed, the water that I will give him will become in him a source of water that spurts for eternal life "(Jn 4, 14). in the link the possibility to sign the petition that we strongly invite to make -> https://www.riapritelourdes.org/en/ Here is the full text of the petition: Keep Lourdes open! Rev. Msgr. Antoine Hérouard, Apostolic Delegate for the Sanctuary of Lourdes, Rev. Archbishop Olivier Ribadeau Dumas, Rector of the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes We ask you to cancel the decree closing the pools of Lourdes and to reopen them immediately for pilgrims, who upon immersing themselves in this miraculous water seek healing for the body and above all for the soul. The decision to close all the pools “as a precaution” and “until further notice”, as stated on March 1 by the Sanctuary, has disconcerted and aggrieved Catholic faithful all over the world! The place from which these waters flow was revealed to Saint Bernadette in February of 1858 by the Our Lady herself. The water revealed itself to be miraculous and has never ceased to flow ever since. In 160 years an incalculable number of faithful, affected by the most diverse diseases, have immersed themselves in these pools without any infection having ever occurred. When an epidemic is rampant in Europe, if there is a place that people should resort to, in order to ensure of not being infected but as to receive benefits for the soul and body, it is precisely the sanctuary of Lourdes. Whoever in Lourdes bathes in the same pool as a Coronavirus patient, would be certain to not be infected, because the pools of Lourdes are not places of sin, but places of faith, and it is faith not medicine that allows miracles. Those who deny the miraculous nature of the water of Lourdes, those who fear that the pools of Lourdes may produce contagion, it is they that deny the power of God, deny the promises of Our Lady, deny the meaning of Lourdes. If that is the case then the sanctuary should be closed. But millions of Catholics around the world look with great hope and confidence at the sanctuary of Lourdes. https://www.riapritelourdes.org/en/ Listen to their prayers: keep open the pools of Lourdes!
